Friends and Family,
Let me start by saying that I didn't know a thing about Global Volunteers until my friend Holly started telling me about a trip she and her father had just taken to Romania to care for orphaned children. Loving the experience of traveling to other cultures, I was intrigued. I asked her some questions about what she did there but it didn't go much further than that. That conversation happened in January 2008.
This past May, Holly informed me that she was going to Romania again to care for those children. This time I asked her so many questions I'm sure she got tired of answering them. When she told me what she was doing and why, I got really excited. I vividly remember the promise I made to her, "I don't know how I'm gonna raise the money, but I'm going."
That's why I created this webpage. I am hoping that through the support of my family and friends I will be able to raise the money. Nevertheless, whether or not I raise the full amount through donations, I intend to stick to my original statement. I will be going to Romania in June 2010.
Now that you know how I learned of the program, let me tell you a little bit about it.
